Founded in 1919, our primary business was the trading of botanical drugs, herbs and spices. Over time, we added to our line of products with the introduction of botanical pesticides, pesticidal extracts and alkaloids such as pyrethrum and rotenone. With the advent of synthetic antibiotics, Prentiss concentrated it's attention on the emerging insecticide market.
In 2009, we came full circle to our botanical roots with the acquisition of the professional line of products from EcoSMART.
EcoSMART's technology is based on the natural defenses that plants and trees have used for their self protection against insects and pathogens for centuries - essential oils.
